Time Out is looking for a mid-senior content creator with five years-plus experience in writing and editing for this exciting editorial opportunity in our Melbourne office.
We need someone who’s fluent in digital and print – who’s able to craft a click-worthy Facebook sell, or a pun-tastic feature lead, and have good the judgment to know the difference. You’ll be passionate about writing grammatically perfect features that people actually want to read. We want someone who can talk to our audience in a tone that’s as fun as the activities they’re describing, and edit copy till it sparkles. A self-starter with a strong sense of editorial independence is required for this role.
We’re looking for someone who respects the sanctity of criticism, and understands the parameters of working for a legacy brand in the 21st century. Experience managing junior writers with a mind to getting the very best out of them is also required, as is an ability to project manage complex tasks with lots of moving pieces. Lifestyle journalism experience, whether it be music, food, entertainment or the arts, will be looked upon favourably – though news hounds hungry for a change in pace are also encouraged to apply.
