Account Manager, Time Out Sydney

The company

About this role

Time Out Australia is looking to expand the Melbourne and Sydney commercial teams to sell across our product suite. We are seeking energetic, fun, fearless sales people who live, breathe and love their cities. 

The successful applicants will be responsible for securing revenue, client growth, managing strategic partnerships and maintaining commercial client relationships across both direct and agency. This role requires solid media experience as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills and sector knowledge. The primary tasks include prospecting for new business, managing existing business relationships, exceptional client service and driving the full sales cycle. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the full sales process to deliver revenue, growth and opportunities
  • Build and maintain key stakeholder relationships across both agency and direct relationships
  • Contribute to the long-term commercial strategy within Time Out
  • Understand Time Out and its audience in order to collaborate with teams across the business to drive revenue potential

Branded Content Writer, Time Out Sydney

Time Out Australia is an award-winning lifestyle publisher focused on helping our audience make the most of their diverse and vibrant cities. In order to effectively communicate the diversity of things to do in our cities we need staff and contributors from a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds, gender identities, and with a variety of abilities.

We are seeking a Branded Content Writer to join our Creative Solutions team to produce content in partnership with our many clients in the arts, hospitality, travel and beyond. Over time the successful candidate will be assigned duties requiring more independent initiative as they gain more experience in the role. Based in our Sydney office, this full-time role is a chance to work for an internationally renowned brand among highly motivated creatives with a passion for going out.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Write branded/sponsored content of varying kinds including listings, features and interview-based stories under broad supervision.

  • Build and publish content online.

  • Manage and write copy for twice weekly Sydney newsletters (eDMs).

  • Write/manage other eDMs as directed.

  • Liaise with account coordinators to make client amendments.

  • Attend commercial brainstorming meetings and other commercial meetings as required to contribute creative ideas.

  • Contribute occasional editorial content across website, print and social media.

  • Occasional attendance at Time Out events and client-run events for the purposes of business development is a part of this role.

You will have

  • At least two years’ experience in a full-time editorial role.

  • A knack for creative writing and snappy headlines.

  • The ability to produce sparkling and error-free copy.

  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise accordingly.

  • The ability to work quickly to tight deadlines under pressure.

  • Flexibility, urgency, drive and a professional approach at all times.

Social Media Executive, Time Out Australia

In order to effectively communicate, deliver and sell the diversity of things to do in our cities we are looking for staff and contributors from a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds, gender identities, and with a variety of abilities.

About this role

Time Out Australia is looking for a social media executive to work across our paid and organic campaigns. They are to provide media support, strategies and implementation support for the business.

The ideal candidate will have a creative eye, solid written communication skills and will work closely with video to create engaging content. 

This role depends upon excellent interpersonal communication, analytical, data and organisation skills – all of which Time Out expects will develop and improve with time in the role. While this is not a primarily client-facing role, there will be events and interactions where you will be actively shooting social content and meeting with a range of clients and stakeholders and acting as a brand ambassador.

Key responsibilities:

  • Facebook ads manager implementation and reporting (FB Blueprint a bonus) 
  • Proven ability to provide optimisations and strategies to improve campaign performance.
  • Social media content creation and production – ability to write social copy in brand voice and perform basic design (Canva)
  • TikTok ads manager (or past experience with Snapchat)
  • Competency with Excel
  • Reporting & analysis skills
  • Experience with scheduling tools (Echobox, Sked, Creator Studio desirable) 
  • Organic social strategy and experience across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok)
  • Ability to identify and engage with social media trends in a way that is relevant for the brand voice
  • Up-to-date with online accessibility requirements, laws, technology updates and best practices on social media
