Open opportunities at Time Out Australia

Jobs

Following a successful 2018, Time Out Australia is looking to expand the Sydney sales team to sell across our stable of digital, social, print and experiential products. If you love your city, getting out, maximising your experience and not afraid to get your hands dirty then this could be the job for you. We are seeking energetic, fun, fearless sales people who live, breathe and love Sydney.

EditorSydney

Time Out is the world’s most trusted name in city guides. For over 50 years and in more than 215 cities, we’ve been helping people find the best things to do, see, eat, drink, watch and experience.

We’re looking for a gun editor to take the reins and grow the Time Out brand in Sydney.

You will be a creative writer-editor, preferably with a background in lifestyle or entertainment journalism, and have strong curatorial skills when it comes to pinpointing the things turning Sydney on.

You will be passionately interested in the issues affecting Sydney’s social and cultural landscape and be immersed in the local cultural scene: restaurants, bars, theatre, art, film, festivals, travel and everything in between.

You must know your stuff when it comes to the cut and thrust of digital publishing. You can hold your own in the social media melee, being able to craft a killer Facebook sell and shoot an impromptu Instagram Live story. You will be obsessed with traffic and engagement targets, and at home perusing analytics. Ideally, you’ll also have a proven track record delivering quality branded content for clients.

The successful candidate will be both a talented journalist who is able to write from a critical point of view and a confident and inspirational manager, able to run a highly respected editorial team. They will also be a finicky sub with a mania for detail.

If you have what it takes, please send a resume of no more than two pages, plus four published writing samples and a cover letter, to jobs.au@timeout.com

Applicants must have Australian citizenship or permanent residency to be considered for this role. As we receive a high volume of applications for all job postings, please note that only successful applicants will be contacted.
