City of Sydney grants are open for 2021

Will your idea make Sydney a better place? The City has opened grant applications for culture, community, business and the environment

In great news for live music, arts and the night-time economy, City of Sydney has opened its grant applications for cultural, community, business and environment for 2021.

The grants are for non-profits and for-profits, businesses, individuals and community groups. If you have a project that would benefit local communities, these City of Sydney grants and sponsorships may help to make it a reality.

There are business support grants of up to $10,000 available for night-time diversification, helping businesses engage customers with new and exciting night-time experiences such as meet-the-maker events, cooking classes, product and fashion shows, performances and film screenings.

There are business support grants of up to $20,000 for live music and performance (capital and equipment). Any business open to the public with space that can be used for performance or creative production can apply for funding to upgrade their facilities.

Larger grants for festivals and events – art form are a way of getting support for an event that connects audiences to local culture, or for a creative idea to enliven public spaces.

Suburbs or areas looking to attract economic benefits, showcase cultural heritage or encourage connection to a place can apply for festivals and events – village and community funding of up to $30,000.

Environmental performance innovation grants can help applicants test a new technology/process that can benefit the green and circular economy, so long as it isn’t already being used locally. Feasibility studies can get up to $20,000 and demonstration projects can get up to $80,000.

You can also apply to creatively activate a CBD space or support a community initiative to recover from the impacts of Covid-19.
