Our awards for lockdown legends are resonating with the public, getting 4,000+ votes in just 24 hours
The Time In Awards, our reader-voted celebration of the best responses to the 2020 lockdown in Sydney and Melbourne, have hit the ground running, with a total of 4,014 votes recorded in the first 24 hours since voting opened.
The awards invite readers to select winners in more than 20 categories including ‘Favourite Cocktail Delivery’ and ‘Favourite Digital Arts Platform’. They recorded 14,846 page views between 9am on Wednesday May 19 and 9am on Thursday May 20, while 14,663 Instagram followers watched the two Instagram stories announcing the nominees.
The awards, which are sponsored by Impos, Moon Dog Craft Brewery and Cargo Crew, are designed to shine a light on the hospitality and arts industries in Sydney and Melbourne that have pivoted under lockdown since the Covid-19 crisis hit in March.
“We're looking forward to creating some noise to help kickstart the recovery,” said Time Out Australia managing director, Michael Rodrigues. “By voting, readers can show their support to those businesses in hospitality and the arts that need it the most.”
