Time Out Australia’s Google campaign honoured in the AWARD Awards


Our Google Signature Searches campaign has been recognised by the Australasian Association of Writers and Art Directors with two prizes

In 2019, Time Out Australia partnered with Google on ‘Signature Searches’, a campaign spanning digital content and live events.

Earlier this month the campaign (which ran in Sydney and Melbourne) was awarded two ‘Pencils’ by the Australasian Writers and Art Directors Association at its recent AWARD Awards

The Pencils were for Integrated Digital Campaign (Silver Pencil) and Co-created and User Generated Content (Bronze Pencil). 

The campaign brief was to remind our audience of the role Google Search plays in their everyday lives. Time Out’s Signature Searches campaign invited readers to discover unique dishes in local restaurants that could be found through a Google Search using specific search terms. 

Using written and premium video content to showcase restaurants and chefs doing great and unusual work, the Signature Searches campaign also allowed readers to vote for their favourite dish, with the winners announced at the Time Out Food Awards events in Melbourne and Sydney. 

The AWARD Awards span the categories of Advertising, Design, Craft, Film & Entertainment, Purpose, Innovation, Media and Planning. The awards are open to entrants from South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand. More than 2,000 entries were received for 2020.
