Our annual celebration of libation was bigger than ever in 2018
In late February, we celebrated the 10th Time Out Sydney Bar Awards and the 5th Time Out Melbourne Bar Awards and boy, were they a party. Both awards were bursting at the seams with hospo royalty, VIPs and thirsty Time Out readers dying to be among the best of what is happening in the bar scene.
As the only trade/consumer event of its kind, the awards sold out and were the biggest to date, also acting as the launch platform for the new look quarterly issue. Over 600 guests in Sydney, and 400 in Melbourne, enjoyed cocktails by Southern Comfort, cider by Monteith’s, beer by Yenda and wine from brand new label Reverie by Debussy Wines before they were released to the general public shelves.
Sponsors confirmed that these awards were an ideal marketing platform for their brands. For those interested in future events, a sponsorship includes not only on the day exposure and in hand sampling, but a significant supporting media campaign, trade PR, influencer marketing, customised creative, networking opportunities and acquisition benefits.
Time Out used this significant event not only to give back to the best in the business, but specifically in NSW use the platform to urge bar owners to make a submission to the new parliamentary inquiry into the music and arts economy.
