Time Out’s video strategy is kicking goals

Going beyond our traditional media streams, our new-look video content offering is scoring wins across the board for our brand and trusted partners

Over the past 12 months, you may have noticed our videos look a little different. We've given them a new lick of paint and it's proving to be engaging for readers and delivering positive results for clients.

Our news feeds are increasingly dynamic, with information enhanced by visual and audio aids, and our on-the-go readers are increasingly looking for what's hot visually (evident in our new Tik Tok and Reels activities). Since launching in July 2021 our TT has grown 485% from ~3,700 followers to ~18,200, to over 18k and our view count is over 6.2M total views. Our Instagram accounts (Melbourne and Sydney) have achieved a combined 14.5% follower growth.

Why? Because we are giving our audience what they want. There’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to creating engaging video content. Be it short-form videos such as Squid Girl (editorial TikTok, 594,000 plays), Van Gogh at the Lume (editorial IG video - 42,000 views) and Stranger Things 4 (sponsored IG Reel – 223,400 views). to more styled videos such as Johnnie Blood Orange Highball (sponsored video) and the Meet the Maker series (editorial), Time Out offers variety, personalisation and a true understanding of what our readers want.

Not only do we deliver great visuals, we take care of the details along the way. From start to end of production our creative solutions team do all of the work, so clients can sit back, relax and wait to press play.

Our most popular products on the menu are our  ‘Bite-sized Videos’ that are shot on smartphones because they are fast to produce, they’re impactful, affordable and most importantly they perform well. That being said, there we also offer both styled and high-production value videos – something to suit all budgets and briefs.
